Lead Up

Lead Up is designed for pre-calving heifers and cows. It supplies high protein and energy to support the pre-calving period.


It is formulated to help reduce risk of pre-calving metabolic disorders and prevent weight loss pre-lactation. For cows and heifers in the transition period three weeks prior to calving.


Lead Up provides a highly digestible source of starch to promote rumen development. Adapting the rumen to high energy diets pre-calving can have beneficial effects on production after calving.

Provides balanced nutrients with 16% crude protein and fortified with essential vitamins and minerals that help to support fetal growth and immune health.

Negative DCAD aids in the prevention of metabolic disorders such as Milk Fever.


Contains a buffer to help reduce the risk of ruminal acidosis.


Antibiotics and medication-free.

Formulated from a selection of the following ingredients: Wheat, Barley, Oats, Oat Hulls, Almond Hulls, Canola Meal, Canola Oil, Lupins, Pollard, Molasses, Lime, Anionic Salts (Magnesium Sulphate, Ammonium Chloride, Ammonium Sulphate, Calcium Sulphate), Rumen Buffer, Vitamin and Mineral Premix.

  • Feeding Instructions

    • Harwood Grains Calf Starter is designed for calves from birth to 3 months of age.
    • Calves younger than 3 months of age should be fed a calf specific milk replacement and wean off of milk replacement once consuming 1kg/head/day of Dairy Starter.
    • Offer free-choice access to fresh, clean water always.
    • Feeders should be set at throat height to reduce wastage and regularly cleaned to reduce spoilage.
    • Place feed and water sources away from each other to keep water clean.
